About Baylee
Singer and songwriter Baylee Van Ryswyk seeks to infiltrate the mainstream music community with messages of authenticity, clarity, and hope.
She has a diverse stylistic background and has had years of lessons beginning at the age of eleven, in various styles including Musical Theater, Classical, and Jazz. Currently, she is pursuing a degree in music from the University of North Texas, along with a double minor in Spanish and English. This coincides with her passion for different cultures and languages as well as music, which will work well when incorporated into her music and career in the form of style, communication, and touring. She has traveled a fair amount abroad, namely: on mission trips, to study Spanish, and to learn about her extended family’s culture. Now, she has friends all over the world, including Trinidad and Tobago, Spain, Austria, and the Netherlands.
Additionally, she has years of experience performing both solo and with an ensemble in those various styles and contexts, including many choirs, musicals, and a vocal jazz ensemble. All of this diverse experience is in the pursuit of deepening empathy and understanding the world more clearly, especially in relation to God, one of Van Ryswyk’s most essential passions as a person and an artist. She has always enjoyed surrounding herself with people different than herself in order to learn how to love, empathize with, and create community with as many people, backgrounds, and cultures as possible. Along with this, the artist plans to use her diverse interests and experience musically to bring a new perspective to mainstream culture, by meeting them where they’re at and then, helping them go further.
